Lola, Madrid host: “Travellers who stay in my home can experience how a Spanish middle class family really lives”

I always welcome the travellers staying in my home with a nice surprise. It’s my way of saying ‘Thank you for coming to my home’”, Lola explains. She has been renting a room in her Madrid home for three years.

After her divorce, sharing a room helped her to have extra income to afford her household expenses. Her son, who lives with her, gives her a helping hand when Lola is unable to welcome her guests in person. She works as a cultural advisor, which requires her to travel a lot. “Travellers who stay in my home can experience how a Spanish middle class family really lives“.

What I love most about it is being able to gather people from very different backgrounds and chat around the table.

Lola has recently started hosting Experiences to let travellers discover the secrets of one of the most typical dishes of the Spanish cuisine: the potato omelette.

What I love most about it is being able to gather people from very different backgrounds and chat around the table, drinking wine and enjoying Spanish cuisine. I keep friends with many of the travellers who have stayed in my home“.
