Responsible Hosting Event in Prague

Airbnb regularly organises host meetups to provide information about the latest developments on the topic of short term rentals, and to give hosts the chance to exchange ideas with one another.

On Wednesday 5th of June, Airbnb held an event for hosts to learn more about Responsible Hosting in the Czech Republic. More than 80 hosts attended the event that took place in the Impact Hub in Prague.

Our Community Programme Manager, Ashleigh Gallagher, spoke about the Social Impact program and how Airbnb wants to be a responsible company whilst giving back to the community. She also highlighted ways hosts can be part of Social Impact activities and support local communities.

Lucie Barczi, member of the Community team for CEE, hosted a panel discussion with three representatives of the host community. Hosts Monika, Filip and Veronika shared their experience, recommendations and tips and answered questions from the audience regarding the topics of city tax, the notification obligation to the foreign police department, keeping a house book and neighbour relations.

Hosts can find information that covers general responsibilities in the Czech Republic on the Airbnb Responsible Hosting pages. In addition to such hosted events, Airbnb regularly informs all guests and hosts about local laws and tax rules. With annual email reminders, the company informs hosts about their income tax liability.

To stay in touch with other hosts and exchange ideas with one another, the Prague Host Club invites all hosts to join the Club Facebook Group.
