2. A run outside is a great way to explore the city you just landed in.
My tradition is to go for a quick, easy-paced run as soon as I’ve reached my destination and unpacked. It’s a great way to see the sights and get your bearings, and is the perfect “re-set,” especially if you’re changing travel zones. I just did this on a trip to Barcelona and it was the most lovely way to settle into the city.

5. Try a bodyweight exercise that you can do in any space before heading out for the day.
Liz recommends the Push-Up and Inverted Shoulder Press. For this exercise, place hands slightly more than shoulder-width apart on the floor and extend feet so your body forms a straight line from head to heels. Bend elbows to do a push-up, lowering until your chest nearly touches the floor; then push through your hands to straighten arms while raising hips and pressing into heels. From that position, bend your elbows to lower head until it almost touches floor. Press through hands to straighten arms; then return to start. That’s 1 rep.
You can adjust this move to suit your fitness level. Too hard? Ditch the push-up and inverted press every other rep. Need more of a challenge? Place your feet on a step or chair and perform the exercise as instructed.
